How does switching business energy supplier actually work?

You send us a recent bill or your meter numbers, we compare the market on your behalf and present the options in writing. Once you choose, we complete the contract with the new supplier and they arrange the transfer with your existing one. There is no interruption to your supply at any point.

When should I start looking at my renewal?

Most business energy contracts can be secured up to twelve months ahead of the end date. Starting six to nine months early gives us the widest choice of prices and protects you from being rolled onto expensive out-of-contract rates.

What happens if I miss my contract end date?

Your supplier will move you onto deemed or out-of-contract rates, which are usually significantly higher than an agreed contract. If that has already happened, contact us and we will look at moving you as quickly as your current terms allow.

What is a Letter of Authority?

A Letter of Authority, or LOA, is a short document that lets us request contract and usage information from your current suppliers. It does not commit you to a contract, does not allow us to switch you and can be withdrawn at any time.

How long does the whole process take?

A comparison is usually returned within one working day of receiving your details. Once you accept a quote, the paperwork takes minutes and the new supply typically goes live on your existing contract end date.

Are there any fees for your service?

There is no upfront charge to you. We are paid a commission by the supplier you choose, and that amount is disclosed to you in writing before you sign anything so you can see exactly what it is.

Will my supply be interrupted during a switch?

No. Nothing physical changes at your premises. The same network operator delivers your energy or water, so a switch is purely a change of billing and contract arrangement.

Objections are usually raised for outstanding balances or because you are still inside a contract term. We identify the reason, tell you exactly what needs resolving and re-submit the transfer once it is cleared.
